You can ski right up to 2400m
Morzine is situated in the centre of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil ski area — not only the world's largest ski destination but also one of its very best. With 650km of skiable piste right on your doorstep, you won't run out of places to go and things to see.
A resort that has it all in the middle of Portes Du Soleil? Yes Yes Yes!
For beginners, a local area lift pass will give you plenty to keep you occupied. This will get you over to the neighbouring and beginner-friendly resort of Les Gets, but won't include Super-Morzine or Avoriaz in the other direction. Ski schools in Morzine are excellent for skiing and snowboarding alike.
For more experienced skiers and those looking to explore into further reaches, the full-area Portes du Soleil lift pass will give you access to the full 650km, taking you all the way to Switzerland and back in one day. If you're feeling brave, advanced skiers with a head for heights can attempt the famous and infamous "Swiss Wall" — a near-vertical drop of unforgiving moguls which is not to be taken lightly.
One of the larger resorts in France, Morzine village itself is the perfect balance of traditional Savoyarde charm with plenty of evening entertainment for those who want it. The local architecture remains true to its heritage (with Alpine chalets being the predominant form of accommodation), and although English is understood and used in all quarters, French remains the lingua franca for those who live in resort year-round.
When it comes to aprés ski bars and restaurants, there is something to suit all ages, tastes and budgets. The atmosphere of the village is friendly and welcoming. In a resort this size, the regular bus service will be especially appreciated among the many who book accommodation on the outer reaches of the resort. Visitors are advised to check the location of their chalet before booking.
Situated just over an hour from Geneva, Morzine is very easily accessible, making it especially popular for ski weekends and short breaks.

Minutes from Geneva airport
If you are flying to Morzine or Les Gets then we would highly recommend you fly into Geneva (GVA) airport. Geneva airport is 73 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets and has a transfer time of about one hour ten minutes. A lot of this is on motorway. This is the route almost everyone who flies in takes.
Lyon (LYS) airport is 199 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets but It is usually better to avoid Lyon if possible as there are far fewer transfer options available.
Please let us know when you have booked your flights and we can arrange to have your transfers all ready and waiting for you when you land. We do not charge extra for organising this for you.
Morzine is part of the larger Portes Du Soleil ski area. There are two lift pass options available: "Local Area" (Les Gets and Morzine) and "Full Area" (all 12 Portes Du Soleil resorts). The local area pass is usually sufficient for beginner skiers. The full area pass is better suited to experienced skiers and boarders looking to explore and cover more ground. Please note, the local area pass does not include access to Avoriaz.
