After a leisurely breakfast, head out and enjoy the world-class skiing right on your doorstep. The log fire will be roaring when you return for mince pies. Christmas doesn't get much merrier than this.
It's a holiday time, so relax and let us do all the hard work for you. No slaving in the kitchen: we'll have dinner ready for you after your day on the slopes. You won't have to lift a finger. As with any shared chalet, all guests enjoy breakfast around the same time. Your lift pass has been delivered to the chalet so, whenever you're ready, just head for the slopes. World-class skiing awaits...
The choice is yours: ski with the group or do your own thing. Some like to form small groups of similar experience levels or interests; others like to strike out on an adventure of their own. It's completely up to you.
Join the others for aprés ski in the resort centre, or head back to the chalet to get the first slice of the afternoon cake. We'll all have dinner together. Grab a drink with the rest of the gang, or hit the hay ready for a big day tomorrow.
The single-occupancy supplement is generally the biggest headache for individual skiers travelling alone. Usually, solos have to pay a premium for the empty bed, making ski holidays unaffordable for most singles and solo skiers. With The Ski Gathering, you'll be sharing a room so there is no single supplement. Sharing a triple or quad room, you pay slightly less than those sharing a twin.
Kids are great fun, but there are lots of reasons why grown-up company might be preferable, especially at Christmas. That's why The Ski Gathering offers exclusively adults-only ski holidays. Meet friendly people, experience world-class skiing, enjoy good grown-up company.
The Ski Gathering is ideal for individuals and pairs looking to share a chalet at Christmas. Many chalet companies do not offer shared chalets Christmas week, favouring large groups who will take exclusive use. But that leaves out all the single skiers and the small groups of two or three who would like a catered ski holiday, but can't fill a chalet on their own.

You will be sharing the chalet with other independent travellers just like you, plus perhaps some groups of two or three skiers who already know each other but would like to mix with others. There will be a full range of abilities from day-one beginners to seasoned veterans of the slopes.
Yes, with jingle bells on. The chalet will be decorated, there will be Christmas treats, a traditional dinner, the works. That said, if Christmas isn't your thing, nobody will be telling you how to have fun. There are no formal or pre-arranged group activities. Just good company, great skiing and Christmas in a winter cabin. What's not to love?
No. The Ski Gathering does not offer "dating ski holidays" or "ski holidays for singles", as such. Instead, we tend to think of our ski trips as shared chalet holidays for individual skiers and sociable solo travellers.
Absolutely, sociable couples are very welcome. Just ask us for your own double or twin room (n.b. all rooms are single-sex except by request by mixed-sex couples). Enjoy time as a two when you want to, join the rest group when it suits.
Firstly, we offer adults-only ski holidays, so there are no children or teenagers. Perhaps more importantly, everyone who books has chosen to share their ski holiday with other outgoing and friendly people.
Yes, just let us know what you need and we will get everything sorted for you, hassle-free. We can arrange your lift pass, your ski hire and your ski lessons, if applicable. Happy to help.
A broad spectrum of age groups join our holidays. Our holidays tend to be balanced between a mix of younger people and more mature people. We have an "over 18" only policy in most of our chalets but our guests tend to be older than 21. We do have holidays for specific age groupes which you can find here. It can depend on the specific group but the balance between male and female guests tends to be about 50/50.
The best time to arrive (when possible) is some time in the mid afternoon of the first day. If however you need to arrive in resort at another time we will do our best to accommodate you. The reason we recommend mid afternoon on the first day is because it give you an excellent chance to meet the other guests
This was my second visit to Les Suites de l'Alpe and the Ski Gathering. This time I spent Christmas and everything was exceptional. Amazing food, charming Chalet hosts, clean rooms.
