Les Gets is situated in the south-west reaches of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil ski area — not only the world's largest ski destination but also one of its very best. With 650km of skiable piste right on your doorstep, you won't run out of places to go and things to see.

The largest ski area with a plethora of holiday options? Perfect!

Les Gets Holiday prices

For Beginners

For beginners, a local area lift pass will give you plenty to keep you occupied. This will get you over to the neighbouring and beginner-friendly resort of Morzine, but won't include Super-Morzine or Avoriaz beyond. A full-area lift pass will be required for these more distant destinations. Ski schools in Les Gets are excellent for skiing and snowboarding alike, and the village features a kids-only ski slope.

For Intermediates / Advanced

For more experienced skiers and those looking to explore into further reaches, the full-area Portes du Soleil lift pass will give you access to the full 650km, taking you all the way to Switzerland and back in one day. If you're feeling brave, advanced skiers with a head for heights can attempt the famous and infamous "Swiss Wall" — a near-vertical drop of unforgiving moguls which is not to be taken lightly.

Off-Piste

On a powder day, off-piste skiers should head for the back of Mont Chery where it is always blissfully quiet. You will also find a couple of nice blacks and some not-too-taxing reds here, also. Beginners and improvers are will find more rewarding terrain on the other side of the village, however. An experienced local ski guide is always recommend for off-piste: just let us know and we can arrange that for you.

Les Gets Village

Les Gets is in many ways the definitive picture-postcard French ski resort. Traditional architecture, regional cuisine and the continued presence of friendly locals have kept this very much a quaint French village, mostly undiluted by the large numbers of visitors each year.

Les Gets is perhaps best known as a family ski destination, and those bringing young children will not be disappointed — there is plenty to keep skiing and non-skiing youngsters entertained. But it is misleading to suggest that Les Gets isn't equally suited to adults-only ski holidays. The bars and restaurants of the village centre offer a great night out for a mature group, even if a younger party-going crowd might look more readily to neighbouring Morzine.

Situated just one hour from Geneva, Les Gets is very easily accessible, making it especially popular for ski weekends and short breaks.

Rock The Pistes March 2024

There is an amazing festival held each year in Les Gets right on the pistes. This features acts from all genres of music. This year is no different, Rock the Pistes packs a number of concerts into one week, with open-air concerts right on the slopes that are only accessible by ski, and après-ski concerts every evening in the resort villages. Getting to Les Gets

If you are flying to Morzine or Les Gets then we would highly recommend you fly into Geneva (GVA) airport. Geneva airport is 73 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets and has a transfer time of about one hour ten minutes. A lot of this is on motorway. This is the route almost everyone who flies in takes.

Lyon (LYS) airport is 199 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets but It is usually better to avoid Lyon if possible as there are far fewer transfer options available.

Please let us know when you have booked your flights and we can arrange to have your transfers all ready and waiting for you when you land. We do not charge extra for organising this for you.

Thanks to The Ski Gathering, Les Gets was one of my most fun ski holidays ever! Belinda, Immy and Rachel were wonderful at looking after us. They worked hard to ensure us to have a good time.

Five stars is not enoughWhere do I begin? Despite all the mishaps, misadventures, and badly injuring my right knee, this was the best experience I have had skiing in years. I cannot stress enough how brilliant Belinda and the team of ladies at Les Gets were, from arrival to departure. Their organisation and support were invaluable. If they said something was worth doing or recommended a place to go, they were invariably right. The support they provided to ensure you have a great trip was absolutely first-class. I should know—I had to call upon their help more than most, whether it was needing rescuing from the medical centre or somehow swapping skis with another unfortunate person. This was definitely the best trip I have been on in years—great value in a great atmosphere. Good accommodation and great food, even for a very fussy eater like myself. Afternoon tea and cakes were fabulous—only, there was never enough cake for us gannets! The service was friendly and superb throughout my stay, and I cannot praise it enough. Five stars is not enough. If I am ever able to go skiing again, I will definitely go with The Ski Gathering. Thank you for a brilliant holiday. As I sit here waiting for the fracture clinic to call back with an appointment date, I can only look back with pleasure on my trip to Les Gets and my time with The Ski Gathering—and the memories I have. If you are wanting to go solo skiing, this is definitely the way to go. The team at The Ski Gathering in Les Gets are brilliant!

I had the best time10 stars out of 5!!!! All I can say is wow, wonderful resort, wonderful chalet, wonderful food, wonderful people. I had the best time. I was apprehensive about sharing a chalet and in fact a room with complete strangers, but I loved every second of it. Belinda really is the icing on the cake, I believe there may actually be at least 4 of her!!! She is so helpful, so organised, so knowledgeable and so invested in making your stay the best possible. Not a package holiday, but everything except my flight was organised for me. Les Suites de l'Alpe is right next to a chair lift and free bus route to other parts of the ski area. Food was delicious, girls in chalet so attentive and facilities spot on. I will be back!!!!

More than exceeded expectationsAwesome ski week! Have had many ski trips in the past but never solo to a chalet, initially unsure what to expect but more than exceeded expectations. Whole group friendly fun and ski/boarded together everyday all over the resort. Chalet hosts really welcoming to cosy modern and well catered meals. Belinda what an unbelievable force of skiing nature! Nothing too much to organsise or help with to make the best holiday experience for all, an absolute pleasure to ski with! Cannot more highly recommend ski gathering.

This is an absolute godsendI've just finished my second ski season in a row in Les Gets with the Ski Gathering, and it's hard to look past the extensive ski areas in the Portes du Soleil combined with the brilliant chalet when thinking about the next season as well. The hosts keep the chalet clean and well maintained, and help organise things like equipment hire and transfers. The food is plentiful and tasty (breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner), with dinner being a pleasant mix of restaurant and family-style dishes. The hosts are friendly and approachable. The spa, whilst small, is a welcome addition to the experience. All of this contributes to making the experience akin to what you might expect from a trip with group of friends. The difference is that you start the week as complete strangers, but on both occasions I've found that by the end of the week everyone is chatting, joking and laughing (and often drinking) as though we've known each other for much, much longer. As a solo traveller, this is an absolute godsend. What might otherwise turn a holiday into a stressful mess of review-searching and bookings before it even begins, becomes an easy, enjoyable experience where you can focus on the skiing, socialisation and just having a good time. I can't praise it enough!

Roll on next year!I had a fabulous week with Belinda and the team in Les Gets and not having joined a solos ski group before, this was a great experience. I hadn’t skied properly for over 6 years and whilst I knew the wider area, Les Gets was new to me. The chalet was great and the team there absolutely wonderful. Great food, great company from my fellow travellers and skiers and a definite revisit next year! Belinda goes out of her way to make sure you have the best experience you can from your holiday and nothing is too much trouble - so much hard work and kindness which was truly appreciated, thank you!. Hannah, Amy and Emma in the chalet are lovely, work incredibly hard and, again, nothing is too much trouble. We had a mixed bag of weather but great snow and such a huge area to ski - roll on next year !! Thanks again everyone! x

Do this; you won't regret itAbsolutely tremendous experience. No notes. I had done catered chalets in France before, so I knew to expect a great breakfast, tasty afternoon tea and a good dinner, but this was next-level in unexpected ways. First, the lovely team that looked after us, so kind and eager to accommodate, feeding and tidying up and smiling throughout. Second, the ski group -- I don't know how The Ski Gathering does it, but inviting 'social solo skiers over 50' turned out a delightful group - warm and fun and full of kindness and interest in each other. New friends! Finally, our resort manager, Belinda, who gave amazing advice on pistes and lifts, teased and cajoled and helped us, and joined for some very special days on the mountain from first tracks to the final cheeky vin chaud at day's end. Do this; you won't regret it.

It hugely exceeded my expectationsJust back from a fantastic week with Ski Gathering. I was keen to get on the hills but with no mates available, I thought I'd take a chance and I'm very glad I did. Thinking 'at least it's bed & board near the slopes' it hugely exceeded my expectations with genuinely good food and lovely chalet hosts, and a group of sociable fellow skiers and boarders enjoying life on and off the hill. Special mention for resort manager and human dynamo Belinda for making everything run smoothly with tact and humour. I'd have no hesitation in booking again.

Well organised and very friendlyThis was my third visit to Les Suites de l'Alpe and to a 50+ solo holiday. From the very start it was well organised and very friendly. Belinda made us feel very welcome and explained how things worked, from ski passes and buses, to paying for 18 different drinks in the mountain cafe! Emma, Hannah and Harriet were very efficient and obliging, coping with all our different requests and late appearances. I very much enjoyed my vegetarian option, which had lots of variety and was filling and tasty. Overall i had a fantastic time skiing and staying at the chalet, thank you to all the hosts.

My fourth experience with The Ski GatheringI had an excellent over 50s week at the Chalet des Pistes. Everyone in the group was friendly and there was always someone to ski with. I greatly enjoyed the little tourist train between lifts in Morzine, saved my ancient legs. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the free wine and beer. Thanks to Harriet for looking after us and especially for supplying croissants for my journey home. This was my fourth experience with Ski Gathering and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a solo skiing trip.

The chalet is modern and close to a lift and Belinda and the team in Les Gets were very helpful. The guided week was excellent. Will visit again!
