With a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and sauna and 7 nights food this Hotel provides the perfect sociable space for a solo ski holiday. Full of old world charm and with warm and friendly staff this is a great base to explore the world famous Chamonix Valley. This location is hosted by Hotel Du Bois.
The hotel is located at the start of the Chamonix Valley in the town of Les Houches. Situated in the town it is close to bars, shops and supermarkets. You can also take the free public buses and head into Chamonix town to explore the scene there. It is about ten minutes walk to the Les Houches village centre, or just 200m from the bus stop. Please note there is a free courtesy bus provided by the hotel also.
The simple but classy twin bedrooms are all ensuite. They occupy the garden side of the hotel and have amazing views of the Mont Blanc chain and the glacier. These rooms also have balconies. The single rooms may have valley or Mont Blanc chain views.
The attached "Le Caprice" restaurant is cosy and decorated in the Savoyard style. There will be a space set aside for The Ski Gathering groups. The menu is refined but varied and everything is home made as this is the chefs policy! Evening meals for 7 nights are included in the chalet.
Rest your aching legs: Hotel Du Bois has a sauna and a 70m² indoor heated swimming pool. Perfect to wind down after a day on the slopes. Free wifi is provided throughout the hotel and there are large flat screen TVs in each room.
A roaring log stove welcomes you into the warm and cosy atmosphere of "Harry's" bar. Stop in here after the pool or sauna for a drink. Serving a full selection of wines, beers, soft drinks and cocktails this is a great place to socialise.
A private shuttle bus is provided between 9am and 5pm to bring you to the slopes and back. This very flexible service can cover the entire valley ski domain : from Les Houches to Le Tour, and includes "Les Grands Montets", Planpraz Le Brévent and La Flégère.

Les Houches is part of the larger Chamonix Mont Blanc ski area. There are two main lift pass options available: "Les Houches Forfait" (Les Houches only) and "Mont Blanc Unlimited" (all of the Chamonix Valley and more). The Les Houches pass is usually sufficient for beginner skiers. The full Mont Blanc Unlimited pass is better suited to experienced skiers and boarders, looking to explore and cover more ground.

Please contact us for Ski Hire options in Chamonix
If you are flying to Chamonix then we would recommend you fly into Geneva (GVA) airport. Geneva airport is 90 kilometres from Chamonix and has a transfer time of about one hour fifteen minutes. Most of this is on motorway. This is the route almost everyone who flies in takes.
Chambery (CMF) airport is 135 kilometres from Chamonix but It is usually better to avoid Chambery if possible as there are far fewer transfer options available.
Please let us know when you have booked your flights and we can arrange to have your transfers all ready and waiting for you when you land. We do not charge extra for organising this for you.
Our Chamonix holidays are operated by Jean-Marc at Hotel Du Bois. Jean-Marc's great grandfather was "Joseph Vallot" who founded the Mont-Blanc observatory at the end of the 19th century. As such hotel lobby is full of historical pictures. This is a friendly, independent company. Hotel Du Bois offer great customer service, and their team will be on hand to help with any questions or issues you may have.
